Brief Description of In-Person Courses:
Rhythm Interpretation: Ideal for those new to cardiac monitoring, this in-depth course covers a systematic approach to interpreting rhythms, with extensive case studies and practice. Prepare with The QRS Heart of the Matter training manual.
12-Lead ECG Interpretation: This course is ideal for healthcare staff and students new to 12-Lead ECGs. Learn a systematic approach to assess ECGs, identify normal vs. abnormal readings, and understand treatment and complications for acute coronary syndromes. Note: If you're unfamiliar with rhythm interpretation, we recommend attending a Rhythm Interpretation course first.
Combined Rhythm & ECG Interpretation: Tailored for professionals with some experience in cardiac monitoring and ECG interpretation. A refresher to refine your skills. If you are new to cardiac monitoring, please attend the Rhythm course first.
ADVANCED ECG Interpretation: For advanced practitioners, this course covers WPW, AV Blocks, Axis Deviation, and more. Best suited for those in critical care or emergency settings.
Rhythm & ECG Interpretation for NURSE PRACTITIONERS: Designed for NPs in non-critical care settings, this course covers systematic ECG assessment for stable patients with cardiac conditions.
Pre-Hospital ECG: Tailored for paramedics, this course focuses on ECG assessment and pre-hospital care through case studies.
The ABCS of Cardiac Medications (4hrs): A comprehensive course covering cardiac medications, including ACE-Inhibitors, Beta Blockers, Calcium Channel Blockers, Statins, and more, with patient education tips.
Fluids/Electrolytes/ABGs (4hrs): Learn the essentials of fluid and electrolyte balance, homeostasis, and arterial blood gases, with self-paced practice.
Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices (CIEDs): A review of external, temporary and permanent pacemakers, Permanent pacemaker descriptors, Failure to Capture and Failure to Sense, Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD), and Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy (CRT). There will be a discussion on End of Life Care and the role of the magnet. (1.5hrs)
